Allsorts Challenge #683

Good morning everyone, it's Saturday so welcome to another weekly Allsorts Challenge. This week Ellie has chosen the theme and it is

*** Anything Goes with option of Flora and Fauna ***

This week we have 2 great prizes on offer:

First - a die set from Highlight Crafts

and secondly ... this beautiful floral stencil

Here's my card for this week.

This is another stamp from the AALL & Create set I recently acquired from the FB Craft De-Stash site. As I mentioned previously these stamps are all absolutely HUGE, so I found myself making a C5 card which I very rarely do... in fact I didn't have any suitable envelopes to go with it!! My stamping platform was an absolute Godsend for this, as it would have been very difficult to handle on an acrylic block!!

I do have a fairly large acrylic block which rarely gets an outing, so I inked it up with 3 colours of Distress Ink and spritzed with water, then stamped it onto my card panel to create my background rectangle… indeed since I started collecting DO’s I rarely use my original Distress Inks any more, but I think I probably should !! I spattered some water onto the rectangle to distress it a bit more, then when dry I stamped my main image using Rainforest Versafine Clair. I also stamped it onto a separate piece of card and cut out the individual letters for the word "Nature" which I then glued on top of the image to add a bit of dimension. I background stamped (2nd generation) some words from the same stamp set using Warm Breeze VFC, then stamped my main sentiment in Twilight VFC. I cut and embossed my butterfly in pale gold card, then attached and bent the wings to give further dimension. I then added a whimsical sticker sentiment before matting and layering with my twine.

Stamps: AALL & Create #449 - Through The Meadows (main image and background words); #531 - Textured Florals (sentiment);
Media: Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Peeled Paint, Shabby Shutters, Tumbled Glass); Versafine Clair (Rainforest, Twilight, Warm Breeze);
Tools: Cuttlebug Cut and Emboss "Butterflies"; Tim Holtz "Small Talk" stickers;
Jute twine from my stash.

Challenges I would like to enter:

Crafty Friends #157 - Embossing (Wet or Dry)
Dream Valley #273 - All Occasions
NBUS #40 - Use Your Never Before Used Schtuff
(Mine is the main focal stamp and background word stamps)

Well I just love this card Pauline. Great inking, fab stamp and I love that you cut the word "nature" out and stuck them back on over the originals. Also like the addition of twine. xxx

This is absolutely beautiful, Pauline! Loving this nature themed stamp set and you've done a fabulous job making a large card. I don't know how we managed in the past making cards without a handy stamp platform!!
I am also really loving your color scheme, and the golden butterfly and twine finish it off so nicely! Great way to feature both "flora and fauna" on your card for my optional theme!

Gorgeous card. I'm loving all the details - there is a lot to admire on your card. I especially like the watercoloured panel which grounds the card - a great starting point. Thanks for joining us at Happy Little Stampers ~ Watercolour Challenge.
