Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Masculine

Good morning Penny Black lovers, and welcome to June's Penny Black Saturday Challenge!

Thanks as always to everyone who entered last month's Anything Goes challenge - it was great to see all your fabulous entries ... but we couldn't help but notice there were several that were sadly ineligible for our fab prizes as they didn't use a Penny Black image. Don't forget - our only rule is that you need to follow the theme using a Penny Black image stamp, large sentiment or stickeroo as the main focus of your project.

Anyhoo, on to this month's challenge .. and with Father's Day just around the corner what better theme than

Masculine

As always we have a fab range of prizes from our regular sponsors.

$20 online voucher

The rest of the DT have worked their Penny Black magic - here is what I did.

This is my dad's Father's Day card. I have to admit that I did struggle as I don't really have any overtly masculine PB stamps ... but when I delved into my box I thought that this cute pair of adult and child hedgies was quite suitable for the occasion.

This card also gave me opportunity to use my new Heart Banner die which I have had lurking in my stash for a couple of weeks, but there hasn't really been much crafting going on for me to use it ... and last but not least my yummy new LotV "Country Gent" papers which arrived Friday afternoon!!

Stamps: Penny Black "hugs" transparent set; LotV "Everyday Grungy Sentiments";
Media: Promarkers and Flexmarkers;
Papers: LotV "Country Gent" and "Country Lady";
Tools: classic circles and labels three nestabilities; Magnolia Doohickey "Lovely Fence" die; La La Land "Heart Banner" die; Stephanie Weightman "Tattered Lace" die "Aphabet Retro" (from Hobbycraft).

Challenges:
CRAFT #209 - Father's Day / Male
Papercrafting Journey - Masculine Cards
Creative Craft #11 - For The Fellas
Cupcake #244 - Boys
Crafty Catz #185 - Inspired By A Storybook Or Nursery Rhyme
(Hodge the Hedgehog)
I ♥ Promarkers #170 - Use Dies But No Punches
Creative Card Crew #37 - Punches &/or Dies
Simon Says - Anything Goes
Totally Papercrafts #169 - Anything Goes
Party Time Tuesdays #122 - Anything Goes

That's all from me for today - I hope you can join us this month. Have a great weekend.

Penny Black Saturday May Challenge - Anything Goes

Good morning Penny Black lovers, and welcome to another Penny Black Saturday Monthly Challenge.

Thanks as always to everyone who entered last month's sketch challenge - we really enjoyed looking at all your wonderful entries! Don't forget to check the main challenge blog to see if you have won any of our prizes.

This month we have the easy-peasiest theme possible, yes it's

Anything Goes

To be eligible for any of our prizes all you need to do is use a Penny Black image stamp, large sentiment or stickeroo as the main focus of your project .. and this month our prizes are

$20 online store voucher!

The DT have been working hard to create some wonderful inspiration cards - here is mine for this month.

I went in a slightly unusual direction with this card, as I coloured the image with Marvey watercolour markers rather than stamping with black ink and then colouring in with my alcohol markers. I was quite pleased at the time, but then I fell into the classic trap where I just couldn't leave it alone!!

When the card was almost complete I decided to add sparkle to the flowers ... normally I do this with a glue pen and glamour dust, but as the card was already assembled I decided to pop some Stickles straight onto the flower centres. I must have been overtired as I completely overlooked the fact that this would make the water-based ink run ... and sure enough that's what happened!!

Luckily it is flower centres so I could argue the impressionistic smudging is a "feature" - well it was so late by this time that the card just had to stand, as I definitely had no time to make another one!

Stamps: Penny Black "fanfare" (3946K);LotV "Everyday Grungy Messages";
Media: Marvey watercolour pens;
Papers: LotV "promises";
Supplies: flowers various, mostly Wild Orchid Crafts; ribbon from The Ribbon Girl; pearls from The Hobby House;
Tools: Martha Stewart "doily lace" PATP punches; Magnolia Doohickey "heart swirl branch".

Live & Love #11 - 50 Shades of Lilac!
Simon Says - Happy Mail!
Stampin' For The Weekend - Die Cuts &/or Punches

Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Spring Into Spring!

Good morning everyone and welcome to a new monthly Penny Black Saturday Challenge. Thanks so much to everyone who joined in with last month's Love & Marriage challenge - what a loved-up lot you are! Indeed your efforts were completely lovable and adorable, so don't foget to check the main challenge blog to see if you have won one of our fabulous prizes.

Wow where is the year going to?? I can hardly believe it's March already, and spring is round the corner. At least I hope that's the case, 'cos I'm sure you'll all agree the weather since Christmas has been pretty atrocious, what with snow and freezing temperatures in the UK, or melting temperatures, floods and bush fires if you're in Australia!

So this month our thoughts are turning to spring, and our challenge theme is

Spring Into Spring

What could be easier than that?? Pretty pastel and/or light colours, spring flowers, Easter images ... the possibilities are endless. Just please remember that in order to qualify for our challenge prizes you need to submit a project using a Penny Black image stamp, large sentiment or stickeroo as its main focus.

This month we have a fab selection of prizes as always ... though I'm scheduling this post in advance so please do go check out the main blog for details.

The rest of the DT have produced some beautiful cheerful spring cards to inspire you - here's mine.

I really love this pussy cat - he always makes me smile and I think he is very versatile for birthdays, Easter, or even get-well or thankyou cards. In fact this could probably be used for most of the above occasions!

Media: Promarkers and Flexmarkers;
Papers: Pink Petticoat (gingham) and Paper Adventures (checked);
Supplies: various flowers including Wild Orchid Crafts and Crafts4U2Do; lace from The Ribbon Box; pearls from The Hobby House; ribbon recycled from a cake :-);
Tools: Magnolia Doohickey "Heart Swirl Branch" die.
