Simon Says - Whatever the Weather

Hi everyone,

The past week has flown by, and it's time already for my second week as Guest Designer for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

This week the theme is

Whatever the Weather

The lovely folks over at Simon Says Stamp are generously giving away a FABULOUS $25 voucher to shop at the  Simon Says Stamp StoreAll you have to do is take out your crafty supplies, make something following this week’s prompt, and add a link in the Inlinkz  on the challenge blog post!  You can enter 5 times so that's 5 possible chances to win! All winners are chosen randomly, so everyone has an equal chance - good luck everyone!

Here's my card for this week (links to my supplies are below the description)

I am a big fan of Lavinia stamps, so I decided to make one of my favourite magical sunrise meadow scenes with a variety of Lavinia stamps.

On a square of white stamping card I blended Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks in graduating sunny shades (Squeezed Lemonade, Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade, Ripe Persimmon and Barn Door), then blended Spiced Marmalade DOX and Vintage Photo Distress ink around a Lavinia acetate circle mask to form the sun. I stamped the fairy Aurora using Versafine Clair in Nocturne, then stamped Wild Summer Flowers. I filled in the gaps in my meadow scene by stamping Leaf Spray, Fairy Bells, Flower Collection and Silhouette Grass using a variety of 1st and 2nd generation stamping, using various colours of Versafine and Versafine Clair. I coloured Aurora’s wings and the flowers with Sakura stardust pens (red, orange and yellow) and highlighted Aurora and the sun with Stardust pen to show the sun’s reflection. Finally I stamped my sentiment, added a little stamped bird, and added gold acrylic paint spatter. When dry I edged the finished panel with black marker pen and matted onto 2 colours of co-ordinating card stock.

This is a very sparkly card - here is an angled picture to try to capture that ...
