After I had finished some DT work last night I just had time to make a card with this sweet LotV angel which I had already coloured.  I decided to go for a vintage look using some yummy papers by My Mind's Eye and a sketch I found over at Stamp With Fun. Here's the result.

Penny Black Saturday #169 - Friendship

Good morning all, and welcome to another Penny Black Saturday Challenge. the DT had a totally delicious time last week looking at all your yummy creations .. don't forget to check the main blog to see if you are a winner!!

This week we have a theme that I'm sure you'll all enjoy ...

Friendship

What's not to like about making a card for a special friend? .. and Penny Black stamps have a whole variety of images and sentiments that suit this theme so well :-) The other teamies have made some fabulous creations - do go take a peek!

Taking of sentiments ... I decided to ring the changes this week and make a sentiment stamp the focus of my card. I really like a lot of the PB sentiments, and so it was good to be able to give one prominence on my project.

I would love to be able to say this card was quick and easy to make seeing as it didn't involve any colouring of an image - but alas that wouldn't really be true lol!! I actually spent ages faffing around choosing flowers and ribbon ... I'm sure you know how it is!

Recipe:
Main image; Penny Black setiment stamp "friends matter" (4073F);
Papers: Pink Petticoat "Vintage Rose";
Supplies: All pink flowers by Sweet Lilac; white cherry blossoms and green roses from Wild Orchid Crafts; floral ribbon, pearls and pearl spray from my stash;
Tools: martha Stewart "eyelet lace" PATP and large monarch butterfly punches.

Penny Black Saturday #155 - One For The Guys

Hi everyone ... another week had flown by, and here we are again at Saturday, which means it's time for another Penny Black Saturday Challenge.

Thanks to everyone for your doodletastic entries into last week's challenge - don't forget to check the main blog to see if you have won either of last week's yummy prizes.

This week we guess many of you may be gearing up for Father's Day ... or if not, then maybe you need a card for one of the men in your life. So this week's challenge theme is

One For The Guys

As always you can interpret this however you wish; but to be eligible for this week's prize you should submit a new piece of work which features a Penny Black image, large sentiment or stickeroo.

And to tempt you this week we have got another delish prize ... it is from our lovely ex-teamie Carole

and is this delish PB stamp "Love Nip".

The other ladies have conjured up some fabulous masculine cards - here is my effort for this week.

Initially I thought I would really struggle with this theme, as I have loads of PB stamps but hardly any "masculine" ones .. and those few I do have have already been seen by the only two male family members I need to make cards for! When I started scrabbling around amongst my stash I found these couple of images in a tranparent set called "Bubbly" - masculine and sight unseen by my nearest and dearest - but ... they are absolutely TINY and no way would they make a focal point of a card. I therefore decided that I would make my text big and artfully (?) place the images around it ... but then came the next problem - my die cut alphabet isn't big enough, and I don't have any templates for letters .... so I ended up making some letter templates using Wordart, and then cutting out the letters by hand from patterned paper. If you look closely they are a bit rough and ready, but the thought's there!

Recipe:
Main images: Penny Black transparent set "Bubbly", coloured with Promarkers and Copics;
Sentiments: computer generated, with "Dad" cut out from Wordart templates;
Papers: All My Memories (double sided paper), distressed with Vintage Photo distress ink;
Supplies:  buttons from stash;
Tools: Martha Stewart "scalloped dots" edge punch.

Challenges:
PaperPlay #23 - Father's Day / Man's Card
CRAFT #106 - Father's Day
Sparkles #13 - Father's Day
Alphabet Challenge - F is for Father's Day
Creative Inspirations #115 - Card For Dad / Man's Card

Duckling and daffs

I decided I needed to get a wriggle on if I were to get a reasonable amount of Easter cards ready in time now that the season is looming up on us, and I felt inspired by the couple of sunny days we've had plus the lighter nights since the clocks went forward last weekend.

I absolutely love this Penny Black duck - I've had him a long time but he still always makes me smile, and of course think of spring.

Recipe: Main image: Penny Black "Duckling" (3347H), coloured with Promarkers; Sentiment: Penny Black; Papers: Papermania "Forever Friends - Springtime" (I've actually bought two packs of this paper, I love it so much!!) Supplies: pearls from the Hobby House; ribbon and small silk daffs from my stash; Tools: Martha Stewart "woodland bough" edge punch (just seen); "Decorative corners" Shapeabilities.

Oldie But A Goodie #15 - Colour Combo

Good evening all, and welcome to a new Oldie But A Goodie Challenge. I'm running a bit late today, and I have to confess that the reason is very simple ... I got my weeks wrong and didn't make my card in time - oh the shame!! had to rush my card out last night and then take a photo this morning before rushing out the door for work ... so hope you will all be kind!! Thanks so much to everyone who entered last fortnights's OBAG challenge - fab entries as always. Don't forget to check the main challenge blog to see if you are a winner. So onto this fortnight's challenge, which has been chosen by Liza, and is a colour combo Pink/Blue & Brown We also have a fabulous prize by our new regular sponsor Stämpelkällan which is these darling stamps ... Don't forget that in order to be eligible for the prize you should submit a new piece of work and use a stamped image (not a digi) that is at least 6 months old ... so have a little riffle through your stamp box to find an old but loved stamp ... and of course have fun!! :-) The other DT ladies have made some gorgeous samples - here's mine (at last!) Now I have to confess that I am not big on brown when it comes to crafting, so I immediately thought of incorporating the brown through an animal, with most of the decorative elements being pink and blue. So what better than this adorable LotV bear ... would you look at his little face?? I think this little guy was released in either spring or summer last year, so he's just nicely old enough for the rules of this challenge :-) Recipe: Main image: LotV "Bear and Butterflies" coloured with Promarkers and Copics, and butterfly wings dusted with glamour dust; Sentiment: Penny Black "Birthday Dreams" (3849E); Papers: Pink Petticoat "Vintage Rose"; Supplies: cherry blossoms and lace from Wild Orchid Crafts; Dovecraft dragonfly brad; ribbon from my stash; Tools: "Labels 3" nestabilities; Marianne D Creatables doily die; Cuttlebug "birds and swirls" embossing folder (on the doily). Challenges: I used this week's Sketch Saturday #147 sketch Simon Says - Happy Birthday (2nd entry)
Everybody-Art #134 - Happy Birthday
Stamp Something - Something Sweet (I think this is an adorably sweet image!)
Teddy Stampers #32 - Embossing PaperPlay #11 - Embossing
Wild Orchid Crafts #19 - Dieing to Punch It Out (2nd entry)
Shabby Tea Room #54 - Bingo! (2nd entry)
(This time I have used lace, flowers and embossing) Now I've finally caught up with myself i'm off to get my feet up with cup of tea lol! Have a great week!

Simply scary

I don't really "do" Hallowe'en, so I'm not exactly over-burdened with supplies when this time of year comes around. However, as a Penny Black lover and PB Saturday Challenge DT member I considered it my duty whilst at Port Sunlight last Saturday to snap up one or two of the bargain PB Hallowe'en stamps which were on half-price-or-less offer - it would have been rude not to!!

Here's the result of my first playtime - the card is relatively simple as I have very little in the way of Hallowe'en embellies and I'm not really prepared to splash out on them - I just bought a couple of pieces of Bo Bunny Hallowe'en paper and a bit of cobwebby lace.

I followed the sketch at this week's Sketch Saturday #124, which I rotated by 90 degrees to the right, and also interpreted the 3 dots at the top fairly liberally with my hanging spiders lol!

This card is also for

Fussy & Fancy Friday #21 - Hallowe'en
Everybody-Art-Challenge #112 - Hallowe'en
Crafts & Me #15 - Hallowe'en
Creative Cottage #25 - Hallowe'en
Double Dutch #54 - Boo to You!
Cupcake # 112 - Scary Creatures
Creative Crafts - Trick or Treat
Creative Belli #102 - Pumpkins
Cute Card Thursday # 134 - What's Buggin' You!
Tuesday Taggers - More Than Two Legs
Passion For Promarkers #73 - Orange, Black, Green & Purple + option of Hallowe'en
Let's ink It Up #4 - Hallowe'en Colours
Simon Says - Recipe - 3 types of embellishment, 2 patterned papers & 1 image
(I have used lace, pearls and peel off embellies, 1 striped and 1 mottled Bo Bunny papers {it does have a subtle pattern - honest!!} )
Ooh -La-La #64 - Nothing Floral

I've managed to stop just short of 13 challenges - how scary would that have been?? Edited ... I just found 6 more open Hallowe'en challenges .. and I just couldn't resist ;-)

Recipe:
Main image: Penny Black "Frightful Flight" coloured with Promarkers;
Sentiment: Penny Black;
Papers: Bo Bunny;
Supplies: pearls from The Hobby House; lace and peel offs from my stash;
Tools: Labels nestabilities.

Don't have nightmares and sleep tight lol!

Going dotty about bears

I read recently somewhere that a fair proportion of British adults still sleep with their teddy bears ... I don't actually sleep with mine as sadly he fell to pieces years ago due to an over abundance of love and cuddles .... but I think I must be having a "bear moment" as I made three cards yesterday and coloured in an image for a fourth ... and yep, they were all teddies!!

For this card I followed the sketch at this week's Everybody-Art-Challenge #106

.. and I also made the card for

Lili of the Valley #62 - Let's Go Dotty for Circles
Passion for Promarkers #67 - Teddy Bears' Picnic
Papertake Weekly - Just the one (just one bow)
Pollycraft #59 - Add a Little Nature

Recipe:
Main image: LotV "Teddy with bouquet" coloured with Promarkers;
Sentiment: Craftwork Cards;
Papers: Papermania "Summer Bloom";
Supplies: flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts; ribbon from my stash (rescued from my mum's birthday cake!!);
Tools: small circle, large cirlce and large classic scalloped circle nestabilities; Martha Stewart "scalloped dot" edge punch.

Gotta go ... way past my bedtime .. but by the time I get home from work tomorrow I would have missed the LotV challenge .. and that would never do would it lol!?!

Penny Black Saturday #108

Hello again - welcome to the weekend and to another Penny Black Saturday Challenge. Thanks to everyone who joined in last week - fab paper patches fom you all!! Don't forget to check out whether you have won the prize :-)

First - some exciting news. We shared a couple of weeks ago that we are now being sponsored by

... and this week for the first time we are offering some prizes they have donated. Many of you will have seen the exciting new Mimi and Betsy Bluebell range, and this week we have got not one but THREE prizes from the range for lucky randomly drawn winners - aren't these the cutest?

Betsy Bluebell

Easy Rider

Sweet thing

Not only that .... but we have also got another fab prize from another of our regular sponsors - the lovely Julia at Stampers' Supermarket

... which is a Penny Black stamp of the winner's choice.

Wow!! I wish I could enter lol!!

So what do you need to do to be in with a chance of winning one of these adorable prizes??

This week we are celebrating American Independence Day (4th July) with our American friends, so we would like to see your creations using the colours

red, white and blue

Don't forget the challenge rule that you must use a Penny Black image, large sentiment or sticker as the focus of your project to be eligible to win a prize - and please no backlinking ... you are welcome to combine our challenge with others, but only new work please!

Do check out the rest of the DT's creations as they have truly been waving their star spangled banners of talent !! Here's my red, white and blue creation....

This wasn't very easy for me as the truth is I hate the colour red, and i could only think of one blue paper in my stash that might sit well with red. However I soon got into the swing of it .. who could possibly resist red roses lol?? I can never resist inking up this cute hedgie and I do love popping a little paper rose on her hat. I also used another of the yummy ribbon samples supplied to the DT by Fantastic Ribbons.

I also had a slight drama as I originally intended punching 3 strips of red, white and blue card using my doily lace punch ... but for some reason it wouldn't punch cardstock suddenly - OMG!! It would punch through paper, but when I tried with card it just wasn't haviong any! That's a problem for another day, but in the meantime I improvised by punching with my valentine lace punch instead, and in the end I was actually quite pleased with the effect - a happy accident you might say lol!

Recipe:
Main image: Penny Black "Tiny Wishes" tranparent set, coloured with Promarkers;
Sentiment: Craftwork Cards;
Papers: Craft Creations;
Supplies: flowers from Hobbycraft and Wild Orchid Crafts; dotty ribbon from
Fantastic Ribbons;
