Penny Black Saturday #169 - Friendship

Good morning all, and welcome to another Penny Black Saturday Challenge. the DT had a totally delicious time last week looking at all your yummy creations .. don't forget to check the main blog to see if you are a winner!!

This week we have a theme that I'm sure you'll all enjoy ...

Friendship

What's not to like about making a card for a special friend? .. and Penny Black stamps have a whole variety of images and sentiments that suit this theme so well :-) The other teamies have made some fabulous creations - do go take a peek!

Taking of sentiments ... I decided to ring the changes this week and make a sentiment stamp the focus of my card. I really like a lot of the PB sentiments, and so it was good to be able to give one prominence on my project.

I would love to be able to say this card was quick and easy to make seeing as it didn't involve any colouring of an image - but alas that wouldn't really be true lol!! I actually spent ages faffing around choosing flowers and ribbon ... I'm sure you know how it is!

Recipe:
Main image; Penny Black setiment stamp "friends matter" (4073F);
Papers: Pink Petticoat "Vintage Rose";
Supplies: All pink flowers by Sweet Lilac; white cherry blossoms and green roses from Wild Orchid Crafts; floral ribbon, pearls and pearl spray from my stash;

Penny Black Saturday #141 - More Than One Fold

Hi everyone - it's Saturday, and also the first Saturday of the month ... that means it's time for another Penny Black Saturday Challenge, and also for a new monthly Crafty Calendar Challenge.

I'd like to start off with this week's Penny Black Saturday Challenge. Thanks so much to everyone who joined in with last week's "pearls and lace" theme - I'm sorry to say that due to work I didn't manage to get around all my commenting this week so apologies for that - but don't forget to check the main blog to see if you are a winner!

This week's challenge is

Cards With More Than One Fold

Any shape or size of card is allowed as long as it has more than one fold ... don't forget the only rules are that you should submit a new piece of work (no backlinking) and that you should use a Penny Black image, large sentiment or stickeroo as the main focus.

This week we have two fab prizes for randomly drawn winners - firstly a stamp from the one and only Penny Black Inc (check the main blog for details)

and secondly a yummy prize from The Ribbon Girl:

The winner can choose one colour selection which includes ribbons, seam binding, button twine, divine baker's twine, buttons, pins, lace, a charm and even a roll of 3mm ultra sticky tape!!

Wow!!

The other members of the DT have gone fold crazy so please do check them out ... here's mine.

I decided to make an easel card, even though they are always so difficult to photograph lol!! Another reason was that I really wanted to use this adorable kitty image, and it is so large that it almost fills a standard square card - so it was good to have a little more space to decorate with the sentiment etc.

Recipe:
Main image: Penny Black "You're The Bestest" coloured with Promarkers;
Sentiment: Whiff of Joy;
Papers: Papermania "Forever Friends - Spring Time";
Supplies: flowers and pearls from Wild Orchid Crafts; ribbon from Hobbycraft;
Tools: Shapeabilities "Fancy tags"; Martha Stewart "Floral Vine" deep edge punch; Leone Em "Ash Family" leaf punch; Cuttlebug "Floral Fantasy" embossing folder.

Challenges:
Creative Inspirations #101 - In the Garden
Die Cut Dreams #84 - Spring Garden Scene
Cooking It Up With Katie #51 - Spring + Yellow + Flowers
Penny Black at Allsorts (March) - Welcome Spring (1st entry)
Daring Cardmakers - Jonquils and Daffodils for March
Creative Belli #112 - Animals
Charisma #9 - Four Legged Friends
Fussy & Fancy - Embossing and/or Paper Piecing
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Spoon Full of Sugar #141 - Tags
(Spellbinders "Fancy Tags" used to mount my sentiment)

Hope you can join in this week and look forward to seeing your creations. I'll be back later with another card for this month's Crafty Calendar Challenge.

Creative Card Crew #52 - Thankyou

Hello again, and welcome to another Creative Card Crew challenge. Thanks to everyone who joined in my pink & green challenge over the past 2 weeks - sorry I wasn't able to get round everyone's entries as life's been a bit hectic ... but I'm sure they were all fabulous as usual! And don't forget to check the main challenge blog to see if you are the lucky winner of the challenge prize.

So onto this fortnight's fabulous challenge which has been set by Victoria, and is

Thankyou

And thankyou to Victoria herself, who is sponsoring this week's yummy prize with Stampin' Up products.

The rest of the DT have created some fabulous samples so I hope you will check them out ... here's mine.

Diamonds and roses

This coming Thursday it is my aunt & uncle's diamond wedding anniversary - wow, 60 years of marriage - what an achievement!! And of course, a perfect opportunity to really go to town and make a "special" card. For this one I did actually go out and buy paper, matching bazzill, ribbon and some red paper roses specially, and I hit on the idea of using spray diamantes (rather than spray pearls) to represent the "diamond" in diamond wedding.

Luckily with Valentine's Day just around the corner, there is no shortage of romantic themed challenges that I could enter with this card. First and foremost, Simon Says this week has a photo inspiration which is a picture of a red rose - how perfect is that for this theme?? I would also like to enter this card for the following:

Papertake Weekly - Love Actually
Charisma Cardz #5 - Love
By the Cute & Girly - Love
C.R.A.F.T. #36 - Valentine or Love
Stamp Something - Love Somethings
Paper Play #5 - Love Notes
Ginger Snaps #41 - Romance
Raise the bar #4 - Hearts
Stamp With Fun #45 - Hearts
Die Cut Dreams #34 - Have a heart
Creative Belli #84 - ribbons
Cooking It Up with Katie #10 - home/family theme (uncle & aunt's diamond wedding); punch something, and stickers (hope my silver rub ons and peel offs count?)
Sweet Stampin' Challenge #12 - Floral Frenzy

Recipe:
Main image: Penny Black "You're a Treasure" (1589F) coloured with watercolour pencils and gelly roll sparkle red pen;
Sentiment: rub ons and peel off for "60th";
Paper: make unknown - from Craft In Time;
Supplies: paper roses and diamante spray from Hobbycraft; lace from Quixotic Paperie; ribbon from my stash; Tools: large and small circle nestabilites; Nellie Snedden scalloped circle dies; shapeabilities tag; Martha Stewart "Valentine Lace" edge punch and "scalloped lace heart" punch.

Thanks for looking !

Teddy & robin

I just had to have a play with my cute new Gillian Roberts stamp "Bear & Robin" - he is just sooo cute!

I made this card for this fortnight's Colour Create Challenge #32 - green, red & white, for Simon Says - Animal Antics, and I also followed the sketch over at this week's Friday Sketchers #79.

I also made this card to fit a few more challenges, namely

Spoon Full of Sugar #78 - Baby's First Christmas/ Pre-Schooler. I don't actually have any babies or pre-schoolers amongst my immediate friends and family, but i thought this card with its cute image and fairly simple layout and strong colorus would be appropriate if I had :-)
One Stop Craft Challenge #56 - Snowflakes
Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #7 - Merry Christmas, Happy Winter!
Die Cut Dreams - Santa

Recipe:
Main image: Gillian Roberts "Bear & Robin" coloured with watercolour pencils and decorated with polar white Flowersoft & glamourdust;
Sentiment; Craftwork Cards "Oh! My Words";
Paper: make unknown;
Supplies: pearl brad and spacer from The Hobby House; "ice gold" pearlised white card and pearlised red cardstock from Edwin Allen; Papermania gems; red ribbon from Warrington market;
Tools: Shapeabilities "make a Flake 2"; cuttlebug "Snowflakes" embossing folder.

Here's a close up of teddy with his darling fluffy hat!

Hope you're having a great weekend and thanks for looking.
