Solitaire

This week's Simon Says Stamp & Show challenge is to stamp without using a traditional ink pad ... so this motivated me to get out my Marvey brushstroke markers which haven't seen the light of day in quite a while, and a Penny Black brushstroke stamp "Solitaire". Here's the result.

Stamps: Penny Black "Solitaire"; LotV "Christmas grungy messages";
Media: watercolouring with Marvey brushstroke pens; edges of image distressed with TH "Antique linen" distress ink;
Papers: Basic Grey "Figgy Pudding";
Supplies: flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts; gold mesh ribbon and pearlised berries from The Ribbon Girl.

Challenges:

That's all for today - off out to do a bit of Christmas shopping.

Big birthday wishes

Good morning crafters. I haven't managed to post anything all week as we have been having some 'pooter problems ... so this is my first experimental attempt to see if I can get back into it !! :-)

One of my friends who I don't see very often had her 50th birthday yesterday ... I always knew her birthday was coming up and had a card at the ready, but for some reason I thought her 50th was still a year away. As luck would have it I ran into another friend on Tuesday who put me straight, so Tuesday night I thought I'd better sit down and make a specific card for the occasion.

Unfortunately on demand I couldn't get any inspiration to come straight away... then I remembered another card Imade that I was very pleased with (previously posted here); so I thought I would CASE myself lol! So I made another very similar card to the previous one - here's the result.

The card is actually very sparkly as I used various shades of pink and green glitter card, though it is difficult to see in the dull lighting conditions - here's a closeup.

Stamps: Penny Black "To You..." (2908F);
Papers: pearlised white embossed card from my stash;
Supplies: pearls from The Hobby House; ribbon from Hobbycraft; lace from John Lewis;
Tools: Memory Box "Prim Poppy" die; Cuttlebug "Hippie Chick" number dies; Leone Em "Ash Family" leaf punch; X-Cut small butterfly punch.

Challenges:
J&C Creations (November) - Floral Delights
Papertake Weekly - Flower Power
Ooh La La #118 - Someone Special
In The Pink #8 - Punches and/or Dies
Crafty Cardmakers #79 - More Than One Punches &/or Die Cuts
The Pink Elephant #174 - Punches / Dies

Gem Of A Challenge #59 - Ribbon and Lace
Crafty Catz #159 - Let's Have Sparkle
Oldie But A Goodie - Anything But Christmas
(sentiment stamp is fairly old)
Dream Valley #45 - Anything Goes

The weather's not looking great today, so I'm hoping to get some crafting done. If this post works ok I'll hope to be back soon with the results of my efforts :-)

Have a great weekend.

Birthday Bear

Good morning everyone - hope you are enjoying the weekend. It's a sunny day here today so I think I may venture out shopping this afternoon. I really need to get down to some Chrimbo shopping but I'm not feeling inspired right now ... people are so difficult to buy for lol!!

Anyhoo here is a quick post of  card I made for my work team-mate's birthday yesterday.

I kept this card very simple as I think men prefer it that way. The colours are shades of bright blue for a reason ... my teamie Simon is  a big Everton fan, which clearly indicates he's the right sort! :-)

I have recently been experimenting with a new combo of pens for colouring teddies' fur - James is coloured using Tan, March Hare, Putty and Almond Promarkers plus Light Fawn and Antique White Flexmarkers. He actually looks a bit darker than the pictures suggest, but I think I like this colour combo.

Stamps: LotV "Cheers Bear"; Penny Black sentiment from "Salutations" set;
Media: Promarkers and Flexmarkers;
Supplies: twine and button from The Ribbon Girl.

Challenges:
Oldie But A Goodie - Spots & Stripes
(stamp is at least a year old!)
Charisma #44 - Feeling Blue
Cupcake #217 - Get Krafty (2nd entry)
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes (2nd entry)
Sweet Stampin' - Anything Goes

That's all for today :-)

Lili's Little Fairies Challenge - All Things Bright & Beautiful

.....All Creatures Great & Small ... tra la la :-)

Yes I feel like singing today as it is time for another Lili's Little Fairies Challenge - and it is Team B's turn which means it's time for me to join in ! Hope it's also time for you to join in too, as we have a fabulous theme  for you this week:

All Things Bright & Beautiful

This week we are sponsored by the fabulous Ribbon Girl

with a yummy mini ribbon kit.

Don't forget to be eligible for the prize you need to use a LotV image on your creation - and no backlinking please!

Oo-er! Bright colours - now that got me in a bit of a sweat as I'm a pastels girl in my heart, but I thought I'd better give it a go. Hope you will get your shades on and go check out the rest of the DT's stunning zingy creations - here's mine.

I do think personally that a lot of the LotV stamps are particularly pretty when coloured in soft and sweet shades ... but this little bear is so versatile I think he looks adorable in any colour scheme, so I thought I would bring him out to play.

I needed to make a get well card for a lady in work who has just had her tonsils out after endless trouble with them, and I had the idea of making a little flower of sentiment tags. It seemed like a brainwave at the time though I'm a bit less sure now I've done it .. would love to know what you think.

Stamps: LotV "Patchwork Daisy" and "Sentiment Tags";
Media: Promarkers and Flexmarkers;
Papers: LotV "Nitwits" collection "Bonnets and Bowties";
Supplies: blossom from Wild Orchid Crafts; lace from The Ribbon Box; gems by Papermania; large pearl brad from the Hobby House; sparkly ribbon from my stash.

Challenges:
Bunny Zoe's (October) - Pink, Pearls and Lace
Sketch & Stash #100 - Sketch 11

Can't wait to see your bright and beautiful creations!

May the Magic of Christmas Fill Your Heart

Hi everyone, hope you are enjoying your weekend. The weather has really turned freezing cold ... I'm sure it means we should stay indoors crafting!! I'm really trying to get into gear now with making my Christmas cards, so here's another I made on my day off last Friday.

Stamps: LotV "Teddy With Robin" and "Chrismas Grungy messages";
Media: Promarkers and Flemarkers, decorated with glamour dust;
Papers: LotV "Krafty Christmas";

Tthis card is actually really sparkly what with with glamour dust on the image's snow, matting using white glittter card, and red gems - the day was so dull the photos don't capture it very well. Here's a close up which is a poor attempt to show the sparkle!
