Quite a few people today seem to be having a little wander down memory lane, reminiscing about their fave cards of 2009 ... and indeed Quixotic Paperie even has some blog candy on offer for bloggers showing their fave card ... they are offering a £40 mystery gift pack - how yummy is that??
I couldn't resist joining in, and have just spent a happy and peaceful hour looking back through my blog, remembering not only the cards I made but the occasions and people that they were for .... some were made for challenges and fitted to people after the event, whilst others were made very specifically for loved ones and then fitted into challenges as and when they arose :-)
Here's my absolute favourite project of the year - it was actually a challenge set by Cathy to alter a brown paper bag, and was my most ambitious and time consuming challenge to date ... it ended up as a birthday card/gift to a dear crafty friend...
This was the front ....
The inside ....
and the back ....
Here are a few more of my favourites from last year ... it's really interesting seeing how more charms, spacers, nestie shapes and fancy edge punches have appeared as the year has gone on ... and I'm sure that trend is bound to continue into 2010 lol! My main aim of the coming year is to try out more different colouring techniques ... but am I going to spend a fortune on Copics?? ... the jury is still out on that one lol! The cards are reasonably spaced through out the year, but I couldn't quite shoe-horn my choices into one per month - but here goes anyway!
February
I chose this because I adore this cute image, the unusual ribbon and the fabby glittered Imaginisce paper

I made a lot of effort to make this card for my dear mum as she has been very ill and deserves only the best :-)
May
June
I was very pleased with the soft colours on this one, which were also carried through to the inside ... this really is versatile stamp which i have used a lot, and proves Penny black is good for so much more than cute creatures
July
... but PB cuties are still right up there in my book - and this has to be one of the most perfect images for a friendship card ever invented lol! This was also where I discovered Quixotic Paperie cute charms and fab lace :-) This was my first (and to date, only) wedding card - so I chose it cos I'm feeling in a soppy reminiscing mood!
September
Here's another "sentimental" one ... I celebrated my silver wedding anniversary in September so here's the card I made for my husband ...
This adorable image was sent to me by the lovely Squirrel ... and I loved these fab MME papers and colours.
October
Snowflake is one of my fave Christmas images, and I so loved these gorgeous Kaisercraft papers - this is pretty much one of my girliest cards of the year lol!!
November
... and Snowy is just about my all-time favourite Christmas image ... oh look - it's the same papers again!
December
I was really loving the "lots of white space" look which was very popular on Christmas cards for 2009 - this one tried to introduce a Scottish tartan theme .
My first ever easel card .... and i'm also loving the new PB "slapstick" stamps.
Last but not least, my Christmas card for my darling husband who puts up with my crafting obsession .. how cute are the new Gillian Robertson stamps, and I totally adored the Magnolia Christmas papers.
Well, that's it for 2009 and here's to another fab year of crafting in 2010 - looking forward to it already!
Hugs
