Penny Black Challenge #100 and Blog Hop with Candy!!

Woo hoo!! This week is a very special week, because the Penny Black Saturday Challenge has reached challenge #100!! We think that's a wonderful reason to celebrate, so this week we have got a

brilliant challenge

with

fantastic prizes

and a

blog hop

with

candy at each step of the way!!

Back to that in a moment, but first thanks as always to our loyal supporters who entered the let's get punchy challenge last week - brilliant projects as always, and don't forget to check back on the challenge blog to see if you won last week's prize.

So onto the big event , which is this week's challenge and blog hop....

Our challenge theme this week is a fabulous sketch developed by Kath & Carole, which I'm sure you can see incorporates shapes to represent the number 100 - how brilliant is that??

We have a fantastic array of prizes this week from a number of our regular sponsors and one or two new ones .... too many to mention here (and a few being added even to the last minute lol!!) so you just have to pop over to the Challenge blog to check it out!! Don't forget ... to be eligible for the prizes the only rule is that you must use a Penny Black stamp or sticker as the dominant feature on your card (no teeny weeny PB sentiments hidden in the corner please, lol!!)

This week the DT has really gone into overdrive to produce some brilliant samples, including our lovely guest designers from the past few months who have been invited back for a "one off" guest appearance in honour of the event :-) Their cards are not published on the challenge blog this week ... oh no!! if you want to see them you will need to take part in our blog hop.

To find out how to take part, please see the bottom of this post ;-)

So here's my card for this week .... I decided once again to try something different - partly in honour of the special nature of this week's challenge, and partly to try out some new stash I bought at Aintree craft show. I decided to go for a "vintage" look (we are 100 after all lol!!) and felt inspired to try making my own background and a vintage scripted panel using a clear set of stamps and techniques I had seen on the Butterfly Kisses stall, plus one of my new Distress inks. I have made this card for a crafty friend who is going through a bit of a hard time at the moment, just t let her know she is in my thoughts :-)

Recipe:
Main image: Penny Black "Blush" (2666K), inked using Tim Holtz "Dusty Concord" distress ink;
Image panel: Butterfly Kisses "Clear 2 Collage" set - script and blotch stamps;
Sentiment: Penny Black "Friends matter" (4073F) (masked);
Papers: centre panel by Paper Pzazz; top and bottom is lilac linen card stamped with Butterfly Kisses set as above - crackle, swirl and blotch stamps - all paper edges distressed with distress ink;
Supplies: pearls from The Hobby House;
Tools: "peony" nestabilities; Fiskars paper cutter "deckle" blade.

I would just like enter this one for the Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #20 - distressed.

So - onto our Challenge #100 blog hop.

We have a blog hop featuring all the DT plus guest designers who we have invited back - each DT member has a little yummy candy along the way. If you want to enter for any of the blog candies, here's what you need to do:

1. Enter a card into this week's challenge - leave a Mr. Linky link on the main challenge blog in the normal way. This enters you for all this week's challenge prizes on the main blog.

2. Hop around each DT member's blog - follow the instructions on each blog to leave a comment if you want to enter for their candy. If you are hopping you should have arrived here from Nat's blog ... if not please go back to make sure you don't miss anything and visit the following blogs ....

Beth
Carole

Jackie
Jacqui
Janiel
Janneke
Joey
Kath
Liz

Nat

... before finishing back here with me :-) I am the last stop on the blog hop so when you've been here you're done - just make sure you have entered your card on the main challenge blog.

3. To enter for my candy, leave a link in Mr Linky with a direct link to your card. If you enter the challenge more than once you can enter my blog candy more than once, but you must leave a separate direct link to each card.

4. Candy entries close at 9pm BST next Friday 14th May. I will pick and announce a winner sometime over the weekend.

So here's my candy ... hope you like it ....

It includes an A5 paper pad from the new Papermania "Henbury Lane" range (very lush and sparkly!!), a matching set of gems, and an assortment of Prima flowers.

I think that's about it for now!! have a great weekend, happy crafting and happy hopping!

Penny Black - Winter Wonderland Blog Hop & DT candy!

Hello everyone and welcome to week 76 of the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.

This week we are really excited as we have something very special for you ..... it's our

"Winter Wonderland"
Countdown to Christmas Blog Hop

Our theme for this week's challenge is

Winter Wonderland

... with a fabulous prize donated by our own lovely Carole of a Cuttlebug Christmas snowflake folder

AND

we're also having a blog hop with some fabulous prizes, both on the challenge blog and on each DT member's blog too!

Here's how it works .....

Can you guess this well known Christmas Song?

---O--- T-- --- N---- -----E--

a little clue......one of Santa's helpers)

It has five words and we have given you another little clue by filling in some of the letters, but to collect the rest of the letters you need to visit each member of the Design Team including our lovely Guest Designer for this month Debby......solve the puzzle and then e-mail your answer to Kath....kathinwesthill@btinternet.com.

The 2 letters you need to collect from me are

H and E

There are links to all the other DT members' blogs on the Penny Black Challenge blog - do go visit them all, look at their fab creations and show them some love for all the hard work they put in over the year ...and of course collect the rest of the letters !!

Good luck ! - Entries will close at midnight GMT on Friday 27th November.

TO BE ELIGIBLE TO WIN A BLOG HOP PRIZE...YOU NEED TO ENTER A CARD IN THIS WEEK'S "WINTER WONDERLAND" CHALLENGE

and all the lucky winners will be announced on Penny Black Saturday next Saturday.

And I can't believe how generous our sponsors have been....fabulous prizes up for grabs......2 CD's from Funky Hand.....4...yes 4 lifetime 15% off discount vouchers from PB Stamps.....a Penny Black stamp from 1-2-3 Stitch......digi download from Pollycraft.....10% voucher from Valentines......$25 voucher from Simon Says Stamps....10 rolls of ribbon from FR Ribbons.....bumper pack of stuff from Simply Create.

And as if that's not enough ...

each DT member is also offering their own

DT blog candy

I am offering the following to one visitor - all you have to do is enter this week's challenge, and leave a comment on my card with a direct link to your work on this post. I will pick my favourite after the challenge closes next Friday 27th November, at midnight GMT.

- One PB "Snowy" stamp - kindly donated by Simply Stamps Friends, and perfect for those last minute Christmas cards as he is so cute and so easy to colour.

- One Wizard Impressabilities - "Snowflakes"

- One pack of Papermania translucent adhesive gems

... and a few bits and bobs such as charms and ribbon if I get more than 50 comments lol!

Don't forget to visit all the other DT members' blogs to check out their fab Winter Wonderland cards, collect your letters for the blog hop prizes, and check out thier blog candies :-)

Phew!

After all that ... my card for this week lol!

Now I have to be honest and say that I've had a bit of a nightmare photographing this ... the composition is quite simple, and the "interest" is really in the fact that I used snowflake tinsel embossing powder on my tree, and three different shades of iridescent pink card ... but alas the good old British weather has done its best to provide only sufficient daylight to draw a veil over it all lol!!

Well here it is anyways!

Recipe:
Main image: Penny Black "Fantasy", heat embossed with Heat It Up "snowflake tinsel" powder onto iridescent pink cardstock, matted onto holographic silver card and pale pink iridescent card, and decorated with pearls and translucent gems from my stash;
Sentiment:
Make Your Mark in York;
Paper: unknown make pink paper;
Supplies: pink organza ribbon, pearls and translucent gems from stash;
Tools: Martha Stewart "embossed snowflakes" edge punch; Cuttlebug "Snowflakes #2" die; small, large and large scalloped circle nestabilities.

Thanks very much to everyone who entered last week's challenge - you really rocked the Christmas for the Guys challenge.

Good luck with the blog hop and looking forward to seeing all your creations!
