I ♥ Promarkers #99 - Cute & Cuddly

Wow the week is flying  by ... Wednesday already, which means it is time for another  I ♥ Promarkers Challenge. Thanks as always to everyone who entered last week's Buttons & Lace challenge - there were some really pretty creations, and the winner is on the main challenge blog.

This week we have a theme of

Cute & Cuddly

which ties in very well with the type of images produced by our sponsor, Stamp Fairy, who are offering a $10 gift certificate for their online store where you can find a wide selection of whimsical and cute digi images.

Don't forget to be eligible for our prize you should submit a new piece of work that follows the theme, and where your image is coloured using Promarkers, Flexmarkers, Aquamarkers or Tria pens by Letraset.

Stamp Fairy very kindly provided some digi images for the DT to play with, and I chose the adorable Molly Fairy ... here's my card.

This is really rather a departure for me, as I have always deliberately steered away from stamps where the faces have no mouths - I find eg. Tilda really creepy for some reason (I can still admire other people's Tilda cards for their composition and details, but I don't like the images per se). However this stamp seemed to me to have a more appealing face than many stamps of that type, and in the end I really enjoyed colouring her :-)  Here's a closeup to try to show the sparkle on her wand and wings!

I decided to go for a spring-like colour scheme ... partly to distract myself from the dark miserable days of January, but also so that I could use my brand new Me To You "Spring Chic" papers - just bought a 12" * 12" pad and they are absolutely scrumptious! I think they will be appearing on here a lot over the next few weeks lol!

Stamp: Stamp Fairy "Molly Fairy";
Media: Promarkers (Dusky Pink, Blush, Ivory, Sandstone, Vanilla, Duck Egg, Cool Aqua, Buttercup, Primrose) and Flexmarkers ( Soft Aqua, Pale Citrus, Lemon Chiffon, Tea Rose, Nutmeg); glamour dust on wings and wand;

Supplies: flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts & Sweet Lilac; lace from The Ribbon Box; pearls from The Hobby House; ribbon from my stash;

Let Them Eat Cake!

Happy Friday everyone! I've been working such long hours recently that I have more than made up enough time for a flexi day from work ... so today I am having a rare day of r&r and playtime!! I decided to make a card using the adorable LotV "Rosie with Cake" - another stamp I'm ashamed to say I've had since last autumn and not inked up before ... all the stamps I bought back then had to wait until after the Christmas rush!! Anyhow, I decided to go ultra girly today, and here is the result. Papertake Weekly Guest DT spot - woo hoo!

I was absolutely thrilled and delighted when the lovely Dawny P emailed me to ask if I would like to be Guest Designer on Papertake Weekly for the next 4 weeks. Would I?? er .... yeah ... PLEEEEASE!

And for my first challenge I had the pleasure of working with this fabby sketch from Miss Pink Piggywiggy herself - hope you can join in this week's challenge too ... don't forget to visit the challenge blog to check out the other DT members' gorgeous samples and this week's prize.

So here's my first GDT card - bit of a scramble this one as I had a bizzy weekend, so I hope it's up to scratch!! I found myself feeling autumnal again for the second time in just over a week - not like me at all as my cards are usually a festival of pinkness! However I do really like the versatility of this stamp - it is really a Christmas stamp but I can see all sorts of possibilities for using it across the seasons :-)

Recipe:
Main image: Penny Black "Fantasy "(3880K), stamped using "Vintage sepia" Versafine onto pale stone coloured card, and decorated with small punched flowers and pearls;
Sentiment; See-D "Celebrations";
Papers: Bo Bunny "Olivia";
Supplies: large turquoise pearl brad and silver spacer from The Hobby House; brown pearls - BasicGrey "Opaline"; flowers, white pearls and silver beads from my stash;
Tools: small and large classic circles & lacy circles nestabilities; Martha Stewart "Woodland Bough" edge punch; small flower Papermania punch.

With its autumnal feel I would like to enter this card for the following challenges:

The Stamp Man #7 - Autumn

Stampin' for the Weekend #49 - Hallowe'en or Fall
BasicGrey #31 - Autumn / Harvest Time

Corrosive #86 - Get Rid of the White

That's all for today ... look forward to seeing your interpretations of Dawny's sketch.
