90 Years Young!

My uncle Bill is going to be 90 this coming Saturday - wow, what an achievement!! It's good to have a happy family occasion after all our recent sadness, and hopefully it gives my dad something to look forward to (Uncile Bill is his brother) ... So in honour of this auspicious occasion I just had to make a card for him ... and here it is.

I decided to go with a fairly vintage look on account of the occasion, so I used a LotV vintage boy image, went with fairly rich vintage colours, and distressed all my  paper edges with my Tim Holtz distressing tool.

Image: LotV  Sketch Pad 1 "Vintage Boys";
Media: Promarkers and Flexmarkers; image edge distressed with TH "tea dye" distress ink;
Papers: LotV "Country Gent" and "Country Lady";
Supplies: pearls from The Hobby House; hessian ribbon from The Ribbon Girl; sentiment from LotV Art Pad 8; gingham ribbon from my local craft shop Edwin Allen; peel off numbers from my stash;
Tools: La La lands "Heart Banner" and "Filigree Corner" dies; Tim Holtz distressing tool on all paper edges.

Happy Birthday To Dad!

Good evening everyone .... hope you are enjoying your weekend. Once again it's two cards in quick succession from me, as I had to sit down yesterday and make a birthday card for my dad so I could hand deliver it when we drove over to see my parents today.  His birthday is actually next week but I didn't want my effort getting bent in the post - it's an 8" * 8" card and they do sometimes get mangled in transit!

I bought myself a LotV sketch pad ... I don't have a lot of male cards to make so I thought this would be good value at the side of buying individual stamps. This is the first one I have coloured - the paper is very smooth and a good weight, though I have to confess I found I got rather a lot of bleaching and bleed with my Promarkers when trying to colour a large area (the chair).

Image: LotV "vintage boys" sketch pad;
Sentiment: LotV "Everyday Grungy Sentiments";
Media: Promarkers and Flexmarkers;
Papers: LotV "Country Gent";
Supplies: hessian ribbon and twine from The Ribbon Girl; ribbon from Hobbycraft; button and card candi from my stash;
Tools: lettering cut with Cuttlebug "Hippie Chick" alphabet dies.
