Heart’s Quest #79 Guest Designer 🤎💛

Hi everyone, I was delighted to be asked recently by Becca to be guest designer for Heart’s Quest Challenge - a challenge which is all about incorporating hearts into your crafty makes.

K

From this month onwards Becca is tweaking the monthly challenge theme, so the main challenge is Anything with a Heart, with the  option of a particular colour. So for this month, that is …

 Anything with a Heart Goes
with option
🤎💛 Brown and/or Gold/Yellow Heart(s) 💛🤎

There is more fabulous inspiration over on the challenge blog, so please do pop over to have a look and link up your makes.

I decided to go with a brown heart, using as my focal point a beautiful retired stamp set I own by Tracy Evans for AALL & Create, and to tie in with that I also decided to go for a vintage vibe. Here it is.

I cut a 14.5cm square of stamping card, and stamped the focal heart using Pinecone Versafine Clair. I then stamped again onto a separate card snippet, coloured the flower with watered down Posca sparkle pen, then fussy cut the flower and set aside. I added stencilling using Tracy Evans’ brand new stencil ‘Distress Background’ and a couple of colours of Distress Oxide, then some background stamping using Sand Dune VFC. I stamped the birds and nibs onto a separate card snippet, coloured in then fussy cut out. I stamped the sentiment onto yet another snippet, cut out and added some blended DOX to distress it. Finally I assembled the card by blending DOX around the edges to add depth, then attaching all the fussy cut elements and matting onto a brown border and 6” square card blank. After assembly I added fine gold spatters.

Another sparkly card - here’s the angled pic.

Stamps: AALL & Create #896 Forget Me Not, #908 Quill Ends; Tracy Evans Boutique Designs TE11 Background Elements; Pink Frog Typewriter Sentiments;
Media: Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks (Antique Linen, Vintage Photo, Spiced Marmalade, Scorched Timber); Versafine Clair (Pinecone, Sand Dune); Posca sparkle pen (Orange); Posca pens (white, gold); Wink of Stella pen (gold);
Tools: Tracy Evans snippet stencil SS31 Distress Background.

Hallo Pauline,
Platz.
Liebe Grüße, Flo
