Believe In the Magic of Christmas

Hi everyone, I’m finally starting to get a wriggle on with my Christmas cards … for some reason I’m struggling with Christmas mojo this year. I do like a Christmas night sky though, so decided to do a Santa sleigh scene with Visible Image stamps, paired with background stamps and sentiments by Chloe’s Creative Crafts, from my most recent craft magazine.

I die cut a stitched frame from white card, then cut a white square large enough to fit behind the aperture. I created a night sky by blending Distress Oxides onto the cut square and Medieval Blue VFC at the top edge, then stamped three layers of buildings in Morning Mist, Medieval Blue and Nocturne VFC to give a feeling of depth. I stamped Santa’s sleigh riding through the sky, added some yellow sparkle pen to light the windows, and white Posca snow spatter. When dry I attached the panel behind the aperture and added a stamped and die cut sentiment and some stamped stars around the edges, before attaching to my card blank. I still thought it needed something else, so I added some silvery Stardust pen sparkle by outlining the houses and reindeer - here’s an angled pic to show that.

Stamps: Visible Image Christmas Eve; sentiment and stars by Chloe’s Creative Crafts;
Media: Tim Holtz Distress Oxides inks (Kitsch Flamingo, Picked Raspberry, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire); Versafine Clair (Nocturne, Medieval Blue, Morning Mist, Very Peri); Sakura Stardust pen (yellow); Posca pen (white);
Tools: Hunkydory Moonstone Duo-Stitched square dies; Chloe’s Creative Crafts Christmas word die.
