Hi everyone, today I’d like to share a simple card using some new supplies I got with the latest Indigo Blu Mixed Media kit crafting magazine - I don’t normally buy craft magazines but I just fancied this one for a change. I also made this card relatively simple as I had the idea of entering it into a “speed” challenge - to make a card (excluding time to plan and gather supplies to hand) in 10 minutes or less … sadly that didn’t quite work out as not only could I not manage to complete it in less than 10 minutes despite forensic planning and gathering of supplies beforehand, but also I discovered the said challenge does not allow entry with many other challenges - never mind! Here’s the result anyway.
I die cut a stitched square of white card, a silver mirror card test tube outline, pink glitter card flowers, green glitter card leaf spray and a shadow sentiment - all from a variety of snippets. I blended Charted Mariner and Kitsch Flamingo distress Oxides through the Indigo Blu stencil on the left hand side of the stitched square, then stuck down my test tube die cut. I coloured inside the die cut with blue Wink of Stella and clear Spectrum Noir sparkle pens, then trimmed and stuck down my die cut flowers and leaves. I glued together my shadow sentiment die cuts and attached, blended more pink DOX round the edges, then attached to a card blank.
Media: Tim Holtz Distress Oxides inks (Charted Mariner, Kitsch Flamingo); Wink of Stella (blue); Spectrum noir sparkle pen (pink);
Tools: Hunky Dory Moonstone Duo- Stitched Squares die; Indigo Blu test tube and flower dies (part of magazine kit); Indigo Blu script stencil (same kit); Simon Says Stamp - Script Thanks die.
Challenges I would like to enter:

Simple maybe but still beautiful. Love the test tube vase and script background-you sometimes find the simple ones take longer than the more intricate cards and I don't follow the challenges that only let you enter a small amount of other challenges-I don't understand the idea behind that tbh.

You've made great use of the magazine kit but what a shame it didn't qualify for entry into the intended challenge. I never time myself when making cards but I imagine even the 'quick' ones probably take me more than ten minutes š. Love the unusual test tube with the pretty die cut flowers.
Very pretty and creative!
Thank you for joining our challenge at Stencil Fun!

A lovely looking floral thank you card made with the IndigoBlu products.
Thanks for coming to play in the Snippets Playground. See you up in the treehouse for some homemade "lemonade" shortly! xxx
You have a lot of details for this pretty card, Pauline! I love the text background with the test-tube vase of posies and the matching silver sediment! Great idea to shade the panel and add the schparkle! Thank you for inspiring everyone to use their NBUS! Hugs, Darnell
It's a lovely design Pauline-, those die cuts are so pretty- simple and delicate, beautiful with the stencilled background.
I am no good at quick- I just faff around too much!
xx
I am sorry you failied in your 10 minute mission. I would have too. It seems impossible for me to do anything related to card making quickly! Your card is great though, I love those little flowers, the softly inked background and your use of the silver card xx
Pauline, this is such a lovely card! I love how muted but interesting the background is using the various colors. And the sentiment and test tube vase really pop. I'm sorry you didn't make it in 10 minutes. I've never tried one of those challenges but would love to. I think it sounds easy until you have to do it. Regardless, you have a wonderful card to send to someone. And as guest designer over at Word Art Wednesday I just wanted to come over and thank you for playing along with them. And best of luck on winning their $30.00 prize from Taylored Expressions!
Wonderful card Pauline, I love the simplicity of the design.

Lovely CAS card. The background design is beautiful. Sweet die cut vase and flowers. Love the shadowed sentiment die. Thanks for sharing with the June Challenge at A Cut Above.
I love the CAS look of this card Pauline! A great use of snippets as well. Also, a clever touch to use a laboratory flask as the 'vase'.
Good to see you in the Playground this time.

What great products from the magazine and your card is so beautiful! Love those delicate blooms.
The speed challenge sounds like a good one, but not sure I would be able to manage. It's a pity they don't allow many combined challenges. I think sharing with others is part of the fun of this hobby!
