A Magnificent Achievement!

My mum and dad are celebrating their Diamond Wedding Anniversary today - yes, that's 60 years of marriage!! Woo hoo and congratulations to them on this magnificent achievement.

For once my handmade card was, quite rightly, not the star of the show as they received their congratulatory card from the Queen, but nonetheless they were delighted with the card I made them :-)

I decided to keep this card very classic and fairly simple primarily white with silver to reflect the occasion. the only colour is the soft pink and blue edging on the butterflies' wings.

Paper: Best Creations Inc;
Supplies: Papermania clear gems; heart gems and silver gauze ribbon from Hobbycraft;
Tools: "floral ovals" neatabilities; Cuttlebug "butterflies" die; Stephanie Weightman "tattered lace" alphabet die (from Hobbycraft); Cuttlebug "Hippie Chick" alphabet dies for numbers.

Challenges:
Anything Goes #88 - Seeing Double
Totally Gorjuss #175 - Something Old
(the age of my parents' marriage, my Cuttlebug butterflies)
The Ribbon Reel #48 - Romantic Elegance
(pink and blue required colours on butterfly wings)
Cupcake #233 - It's Only Words
Kaboodle #162 - Three-Dimensional
OSCC #220 - Anything Goes

Tomorrow we are going to have lunch with mum and dad to celebrate. Hope you will enjoy the rest of your weekend whatever you're doing.

WOW!! BIG congratulations to your mum and dad!
Your card is stunning Pauline. I love the elegant design and the delicate colours on the butterflies looks so beautiful. I am sure this will be treasured just as much, if not more, than the one they received from the Queen
