Lili's Little Fairies Team B Challenge - Buttons & Bows

Good morning Lili fans, and welcome to the latest Lili's Little Fairies challenge. Thanks to all our supporters for bearing with us ... we've had a bit of disruption and upheaval over the past few weeks with Mummy Fairy being indisposed and several departures from our happy band; but we're hoping to get back on track now, and for the time being we're in the capable hands of Aunty Fairy Squirrel (be afraid, be very afraid!!) - we also have a DT call in progress so do check it out on the main challenge  blog if you'd like to join our happy throng!

So, onto business with this week's challenge, and our theme is

Buttons & Bows

You can interpret this to your  heart's desire - the only rule is that you should use a LotV image or die cut topper on your creation :-)
Our DT is a little short on numbers right now, but the ladies have more than made up for it with the quality of their samples -  here's my effort.

I do so adore LotV teddies and this one is just soooo sweet peeping out from his box :-)

A Magnificent Achievement!

My mum and dad are celebrating their Diamond Wedding Anniversary today - yes, that's 60 years of marriage!! Woo hoo and congratulations to them on this magnificent achievement.

For once my handmade card was, quite rightly, not the star of the show as they received their congratulatory card from the Queen, but nonetheless they were delighted with the card I made them :-)

I decided to keep this card very classic and fairly simple primarily white with silver to reflect the occasion. the only colour is the soft pink and blue edging on the butterflies' wings.

Paper: Best Creations Inc;
Supplies: Papermania clear gems; heart gems and silver gauze ribbon from Hobbycraft;
Tools: "floral ovals" neatabilities; Cuttlebug "butterflies" die; Stephanie Weightman "tattered lace" alphabet die (from Hobbycraft); Cuttlebug "Hippie Chick" alphabet dies for numbers.

Challenges:
Anything Goes #88 - Seeing Double

Yet again I have used an adorable LotV bear ... I can't get enough of them! This cute little guy has been in my stash since last year, so I though that despite the awful weather, now was the right time for him to go for a little drive with the top down lol!

For A Very Special Mum

Hi everyone, and hope you're all looking forward to the weekend. This evening I'd like to show you a card I made earlier in the week and posted to my mum for Mother's Day. I'm a bit later blogging this than I would have liked, but our PC has been under the cosh since the beginning of the week, so tonight is the first time I've been able to get online, display my blog properly with all its links in the sidebar (to help me find the challenges I want to enter lol!!) and open Mr. Blogger properly - yay!

Everyone's mum is special, aren't they?? Mine's no different in that respect, but she is also a very special lady in her own right as she has been very seriously ill for the past six and a half years now, to the extent that we have spent all of that time living in the present and making the most of each special occasion such as birthdays and Christmas as they come. So every time Mother's Day comes around I pour a humungous amount of effort into making her card "special" - and this year although I say so myself I think I've made one I'm pretty proud of.

Here it is - hope you'll excuse the photography but steppers aren't very easy to photograph at the best of times and yesterday was such a dull day !!

I have made another stepper card, decorating the main panel in the normal way with image and flowers etc, but also highlighting the steps with border die cuts - I always like to create a mini garden with a fence, a floral border and some butterflies! :-). This is my first outing for  my new Memory Box "Nottingham Border" flower border die which I bought at Lili of the Valley's shop last Saturday (along with the stamp and some of the flowers lol!!)

Stamps: LotV "Watering the Flowers" and 2 sentiments from "Everyday Grungy Messages";
Media: Promarkers and Flexmarkers;
Papers: LotV "Nitwits - Perfect Pair";
Supplies: flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts; berries by Magnolia (from The Glitterpot); silky crush ribbon from The Ribbon Girl; lace from John Lewis; green gems and small pearls from The Hobby House; stepper card blank from Hobbycraft;
Tools: large classic circle and lacy circle nestabilities; Memory  Box "Nottingham Border" die (pink flowers); Magnolia Doohickey "Lovely Fence" and "Heart Swirl Branch" dies; Cuttlebug "Hippie Chick" alphabet dies; X-Cut small butterfly punch.

Challenges:
Creative Inspiration #204 - Happy Mother's Day
Bearly Mine #76 - Mother's Day
In The Pink #15 - Floral / Mother's Day
Ready Teddy Go (March) - Mum's The Word
Passion For Promarkers #188One For The Ladies

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend, whatever you're doing.

Papertake Weekly GDT

Good morning Papertakers, and welcome to another Papertake Weekly challenge.

Sorry this is a short post from me today - my computer is really playing up as we have been reinstalling software, so I haven't got all my normal links - so no links to this week's prizes or to other challenges until I can get it sorted. However I hope you will hop over to the PTW blog to see all the details.

This week's challenge theme is

Anything Goes

(with the option of "for mum or a special lady")

Easy peasy!! here's my card.

A fairly feeble effort from me this week ... I've got so behind with everything since my bad cold and then I was out at the weekend ... so this was a real rush job I'm afraid!  I took advantage of one of the die cut toppers included in my LotV Open Day goody bag - thank God I had it or I don't think I would have got a card done at all!

Image: LotV die cut topper;
Sentiment: Craftwork Cards;
Papers: LotV "Country Lady";
Supplies: pearls from The Hobby House; gems from The Hobby House and Papermania; ribbon from Hobbycraft; lace from Wild orchid Crafts;
Tools: Fleur-de-Lys square nestabilities; Cheery Lynn lacy die; Martha Stewart butterfly punch.

Challenges:
Pile It On #9 - Happy Birthday
Pretty Little Ribbon #20 - Happy Birthday
Ooh La La - Four Legged Friends
Everybody Art #226 - Butterfly
OBAG - Feeling Floral
(old item is my butterfly punch)
Simon Says - Anything Goes

Apologies some of my links are missing - I know they are a condition of challenge entry but I can't physically make most of them at the moment!! Sorry for the disruption - hope all will be sorted soon, so i will be able to come to visit :-)
