A Touch of Red

I've been having a little bit of a break from cardmaking, but last night I sat down for the first time in over a week and had a good play. Where better to start then with this week's Less Is More Challenge #9? And indeed for me, challenge is the right word this week, because if there is one colour I really do not like and avoid at all costs, it's red ..but it just had to be done!! I have ben really blown away by allt he fantastic funky and modern entries I have seen on the blog with glamorous red highlights, but I don't have any stamps along those funky lines, so I decided to go for a traditional approach this week.

Recipe:
Main image: Penny Black poppy from transparent set "Flowers and Wishes", coloured with Promarkers; image edged with random stamping of Penny Black "Scrolling Along" (3812J);
Sentiment: Penny Black transparent set "hugs!";
Supplies: papermania teeny heart gems; ribbon from my stash;
Tools: classic large ovals and large scalloped ovals nestabilities; Martha Stewart "eyelet lace" edge punch.

Challenges:

Less Is More #9 - A Touch of Red
ABC - R is for Ribbon

Back tomorrow with a really zingy spring card :-)

Hi Pauline, I have been amazed this week by the number of people for whom red proves a particular challenge, so well done for grasping the nettle and completing this challenge. This is a lovely card, the poppy image is gorgeous.
See you next time!

It's great to see your name pop up again in our monthly challenge Pauline. You never fail to bring us some gorgeous cards and this one is no exception. I love the stamped, swirly flower pattern around the edge of the die cut. Your colouring is just perfect and the sentiment finishes it off beautifully.
Thank you for playing along in another of our challenge at Penny Black at Allsorts and I am looking forward to seeing your next creation.
