For mum

Now I know that everyone would say that their mum is the best mum in the world ... and of course that's the way it should be. But I think I can say without fear of contradiction that my mum is indeed a very special lady and a really remarkable woman. Back in October 2007 she was diagnosed with facial cancer, and had to undergo a terrifying and gruelling 12 1/2 hour life-saving operation, followed by another 6 1/2 hour operation the following February. She has also had to endure chemotherapy and other traumatic invasive treatments. Somehow though my mum has continued to battle on ... despite her disfiguring surgery and ongoing health problems she remains cheerful and carries on as near to normal as her disabilities allow ... she truly is an inspiration to all who know her. I now treat every milestone such as Christmas and birthdays as a gift, and of course I can't help but make a special effort for Mother's Day. We don't live close by so I don't get to see my mum & dad as often as I would ideally like what with full time jobs etc.. etc ... but I sat me down and really went to town to make this special card. Recipe: Main image: LotV coloured with Promarkers and Copics; Sentiments: Woodware and LotV sentiment circles; Papers: Craft Creations (gingham) and Pink Petticoat (floral); Supplies: large flat gardenia and lace from Wild Orchid Crafts; heart shaped gems by Papermania; velvet ribbon and organza ribbon from my stash; Tools: small, large and lacy circles nestabilities; Martha Stewart "eyelet lace" PATP; Magnolia "vintage tag" die; Marianne D Creatables heart die. I'll be popping this in the post in good time ... I really hope my mum will like it! That's all for today ... back tomorrow with my Less Is More card for this week.

Sorry for the crazy formatting - blogger is really off on one today. I tried editing this post for over an hour this morning and another half hour this afternoon and every time I press a button it throws a wobbler and loses all my formatting - so it's just oging to have to stay like this!
