And now for something completely different ....

My PBSC teamie Domi is getting married on 15th May, so it seemed like a perfect idea to make her a wedding card - Domi, if you are reading this, please look away now lol!!

This card has been largely inspired by a variety of sample cards I saw on The Hobby House stall at aintree craft show a week ago - I bought a Martha Stewart scoring board there, which is 12" x 12" and has score lines very close together so that you can create numerous fancy effects. This style of card is completly different from what I produce normally, but I thought I'd give it a go!!

I cut a piece of lilac/pink pearlescanet card - this one has a beautiful iridescent sheen to it that the camera doesn't really capture. I scored at an angle so that one corner of the card would remain plain, and then scored criss-cross lines to form a quilted effect. I then cut a piece of white pearlescent card and punched with my lacy hearts punch, and used it to form a decorative border. I then just needed to decorate the whole thing with flowers, sparkly butterflies and a sentiment, and highlighted the quilting pattern with tiny pearls.

Recipe:
Sentiment; Whiff of Joy "Wedding Collection";
Papers: pink pearlescent card and white pearlescent "ice gold" card from my stash;
Supplies: two-tone large roses from John Lewis; small tea rose, white silk flowers, organza ribbon and pearls from my stash;
Tools: Martha Stewart scoring board; "large monarch butterfly" punch; "valentine lace" edge punch; labels nestabilities.

I specifically made this card for Domi's Wedding Card Challenge on Simon Says blog, but as luck would have it it is also perfect for a number of other challenges:

Charisma #20 - It's All About Weddings
C.R.A.F.T. #49 - Weddings/Birthdays
Simon Says - Birthdays / Celebrations
By the Cute & Girly - Celebrations
Creative Inspirations #33 - Congratulations!
Flutterby Wednesdays #108 - angel, fairy or butterfly
Everybody-Art-Challenge # 89 - pastel colours
Incy Wincy #40 - Anything Goes

Must rush now as I'm running late for work, and i need to pop this in the post today as Domi lives in Germany :-)
